Formative Assessment Design

The "Designing Formative Assessment" document highlights the daily review routine utilized in my IB Economics class to formatively assess students in three stages.

The "Pre-Assessment Activities" document highlights the application of the InsertLearning Google Extension as a means to pre-assess high, mid, and low performing students.

The "Data-based modifications of formative assessments" document highlights online tools and resources I use to formatively assess student progress through data analysis of student academic performance.

The following document lists several activities that can be applied to low performing students as well as for homogeneous groupings, heterogeneous groupings, and special needs and gifted and talented students.

The "Design an Educational Game" document highlights the "handshake market" activity as a means for students to experience (while collecting data) aspects of the following economic concepts: free market equilibrium, consumer and producer surplus, allocative efficiency, government intervention, oligopoly, monopoly, free trade, and tariffs.
