IBDP Economics HL & SL Instructor

I am an experienced international educator with 20 years of secondary teaching experience, including 13 years leading the IB Economics programme at Benjamin Franklin International School in Barcelona. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about creating engaging, inquiry-driven learning experiences that inspire curiosity, develop critical thinking, and empower students to become confident, independent learners.

​Beyond the classroom, I founded EZ NOMICS (https://www.youtube.com/c/EZNOMICS), one of the world's largest free online IB Economics learning platforms. The channel features more than 270 curriculum-aligned instructional videos, has grown to 32,000+ subscribers, and supports learners in over 130 countries studying IB Economics, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, A-Level, AS-Level, and introductory university Economics. My goal has always been simple: to make high-quality Economics education accessible to every student, regardless of where they live.

At Benjamin Franklin International School, I have led the continued development of the IB Economics programme, helping to grow enrollment from 50 to 90 students while mentoring students who have gone on to study Economics at leading universities, including the London School of Economics, Harvard University, and the University of Chicago. I also supervise IBDP Economics Extended Essays and enjoy guiding students through independent research and inquiry.

​I believe meaningful learning is built through strong relationships, high expectations, and reflective practice. By combining rigorous academic instruction with educational technology, I strive to create collaborative learning environments where students develop the confidence to ask thoughtful questions, think critically, and apply economic reasoning beyond the classroom.

My work has been recognized internationally. I was shortlisted in the Best Use of Technology category for the Tes Awards for International Schools 2024, and I was named Econiful's EconHero Educator for October 2025.

Before specializing in Economics education, I studied Archaeology and Anthropology at Boston University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in both disciplines. I later completed my teacher certification through Moreland University. Outside of education, I am also the author of the science fiction novel Dark Legacy: Book I – Trinity (2011) and the travel memoir Travels in the Land of Hunger (2019). Having lived in Spain and Japan and traveled to more than 50 countries, I value the international perspective that diverse experiences bring to teaching and learning.​
